I’ve got a Valentine’s Card to share with you today; I wanted to paint this beautiful new-to-me stamp from Altenew.
I used my Arteza Real Brush Markers on Bristol Smooth cardstock, because they move absolutely beautifully on there. I like to add a line of colour where the darkest shadows would naturally be, then using clean water and a No. 2 Zen watercolour brush I draw the colour out across the whole petal/leaf.
This stamp set has a circle in the middle that is perfect for your sentiment, but I wanted to pop that up so I embossed that portion of the stamp and fussy cut it out.
I added a very simple black watercolour sentiment and added some black splashes with some watered down Gouache paint.
I was inspired by my Wedding cake, which was white, with black trim and red roses cascading down. Simple, yet elegant.
The challenge inspiration for this challenge is ‘affectionate’ and I wanted to create a card with my wonderful husband in mind; this year will be our 9th Anniversary but it feels like it was only yesterday.
Thank you for visiting my blog, if you’d like to see more of my artwork & how to’s and/or hear my thoughts on living with a chronic illness then please consider subscribing. T.
