Graciellie Designs GIVEAWAY Celebration!

Hello Crafty People!

This week we are having a party over at Graciellie Designs! We are hosting a Giveaway Galore for 3x $10 store credit along with using some of our favourite designs from this year so far! Oh, and did I mention we still have a 50% OFF SALE!

I chose to use the beautiful Butterfly & a sentiment from Change Is Coming. I thought it was very appropriate right now, and I hope, beyond hope, that it is true.

I printed it onto Neenah Solar White 80lb and coloured it really simply with Copic markers. I wanted to get some colour down but I knew I would be adding embossing over the top.

I used a Versamarker to add sticky ink to specific parts of my image, to add embossing powder on top. I wanted to use each of the three stunning powders included in the Dockside Trio from WOW!

I added Glassy Ocean, which is a translucent teal colour to the teal parts of the wings. Sparkling Sands, which is pretty much as described, to the wing that is in shadow. Then Oiled Slate to the body of the Butterfly. I used one colour at a time, heat setting each colour before moving onto the next so that I didn’t get any contamination between colours.

I added a very light grey shadow all round the Butterfly; using CG2, then CG1, then blending out with zero so that there are no harsh lines.

I added some black splatters by flicking watered down black gouache off a stamp block using a thin paintbrush. Then framed the whole thing with a pearlised black frame, cut using Honey Bee’s new A2 frames die. I popped this panel up using adhesive foam tape.

Thank you for visiting my blog, if you’d like to see more of my artwork & how to’s and/or hear my thoughts on living with a chronic illness then please consider subscribing. T.
