Donut Kitty Valentine’s Card | Alex Syberia Design

Hey Crafty People!

This cute cat donut from Alex’s February release is so much fun!! I made animal donut cards with my girls too, they adore these!!!

I coloured my cat in simply with Copic markers; to get the rounded appearance and give my donut some dimension I used darker colours on the inside and outside edges. This will act as the shadow that would naturally fall on a 3d object. Then the lightest colour would be on the highest portion of the curve.

I fussy cut the outside edge and covered the white core of the paper with a black water based marker, because it gives a much nicer finish, and disguises any areas that aren’t perfectly cut! 😂🙈 I used a small circle die to cut the centre of the donut.

I stamped the background using a cute little stamp from one of Altenew’s Eucalyptus Jar stamp set.

I used my favourite small stamping block; it has curved edges which makes it easy for me to keep a grip on.

I drew some really faint lines across an a2 panel of Neenah 80lb. Then I started by stamping the single red sentiment using Ruby Red and then I worked one row at a time stamping repeatedly in GREY. It was super simple to do, but I absolutely love the effect!!

I cut the love speech bubbles by MFT and used copic markers to add some simple shading and paint my hearts red. ♥🥰

I LOVE how this card turned out!!! 🤩😻
