Adding fabulous foiled accents to an abstract background, using one of the backgrounds I made during a previous crafty session!

1. Create an abstract, painted background using Lindy’s Magicals, or your preferred watercolour medium. Set aside to dry.
2. Add strips of double sided adhesive randomly on the background; follow the direction of the paint stripes/swipes/
3. Pull the backing off the tape strips and apply Fab Foil directly onto it. Burnish gently, then remove the foil’s carrier sheet. Do this with different colours of foil, and layer different sizes of tape on top of each other to add even more interest! Set aside your background to work on your sentiment.
4. Apply double sided adhesive sheet to a piece of Vellum and die cut the large ‘Birthday’ sentiment twice. Adhere one of the vellum die cuts on top of the other to create a thicker die cut. This helps it stand out more from the background, but is still semi translucent; allowing it to show off that gorgeous background.
5. Colour some cardstock using a direct to paper method, using a colour which matches your background. Once dry, die cut the two smaller sentiments from it. Mat onto some white die cuts, offsetting slightly. Adhere these on top of the larger word die cut and onto the background.
6. Embellish with various gems.
7. To soften the design, use a corner punch to round the corners.
