Crafting My Place In The World

All Things Fall | Make-A-Card with TLPT

Autumn is my absolute FAVOURITE time of year and I really love making All Things Fall themed cards.
This week, I paired some Autumnal shades of CP inks with the new Harvest Rainbow stamp set from Trinity Stamps’ latest release.

All Things Fall

Creating a rainbow wash background…

I tapped each ink pad gently onto my glass mat, to give me some ink that I could use for painting; if you have the reinkers, you could squeeze a couple of drops out instead. (All inks linked below)

I wanted a sort of Rainbow, so I added each colour in turn onto an a2 panel of Distress Watercolour cardstock, ensuring that I overlapped each colour to give me a gradual transition.

To aid with this blending, I had wet my panel with clean, clear water, before bringing any ink to it. Then you’ve just got to work quickly to ensure that none of the colours has chance to dry before you can blend it into the next.

Once my watercolour wash was complete, I allowed the panel to dry thoroughly before moving on to the next step!

All Things Fall…

The new Harvest Rainbow is a large stamp set, and it has loads of really small, individual leaves & acorns.

I grabbed a mixture of them and added them to an acrylic block; making two groupings of the images, on either side of the block so I could easily stamp them.

I wanted a tone on tone sort of look, so I stamped the images over the background, roughly keeping each ink colour in its own colour section.

To be 100% sure it was dry, I gave the panel a quick blast of my Dual Speed heat gun, so that it was ready to be embossed.

Embossing a sentiment & a border!…

I used the sentiment from the same Harvest Rainbow stamp set, stamping it with Ultra Slow Drying embossing ink, roughly into the middle of the panel. Then I added Decadent Ruby from the Ancient Jewels trio; it’s a mixture of rich red and warm gold that is just PERFECT for my Fall theme!

The panel just didn’t seem ‘finished’ so I decided to swipe my ink pad over the edge of each side, then I added the same Decadent Ruby embossing powder there too. This is a super easy way to create a quick border and I love the way it’s so rustic looking!

Lots of strong double sided adhesive tape onto a 110lb card base is more than enough to sort any warping.
