Hey Crafty People!
Sometimes it’s tough trying to ink blend with a really fine or detailed Stencil and I know that not everybody can get/use those repositionable spray adhesives. So I’m sharing a couple of tips for some detailed stencil workarounds!
- Adhere your panel to the stencil with some well placed Heffy Memo Tape from the back.
- Rather than working in circular motions, ink blend with the details of the stencil…back & forth/up & down etc.
- Hold the detail areas of the stencil in place as you work over them.
Lets make a card!
- Roughly blend a pale blue over a panel of white cardstock; this doesn’t have to be a perfect blend, we just want to lay down some colour that will become our highlights. (You could always start with pale blue cardstock and skip this first step if you’d rather.)
- Tape your Water Ripples stencil over this panel by adding Heffy Memo Tape from behind. Now blend a darker blue over the whole panel using my handy workarounds.
- Spritz the panel with a mixture of water & Perfect Pearls from a mini mister bottle. Set aside to dry.
- On a second panel, ink blend a blend of two shades of green; leaving the darkest colour for around the outer edges. Spritz this with the same DIY shimmer spray.
- Die cut the larger Build a Pond Die from dark green cardstock and adhere the frame portion directly to the water blended panel. Using sharp scissors, trim around the outside edge of the pond frame. Adhere onto the green panel with foam adhesive for dimension.
- Stamp & colour images from the Be Hoppy set then die cut them.
- Add extra detail with highlights from a white gel pen and go over their eyes with a black Glaze pen.
- Stamp the sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black ink and emboss with a clear powder. Die cut this with the largest of the lilypad dies. Ink blend the outer edges of it with the same green inks.
- Adhere the images and sentiment with a mix of liquid and foam adhesive.
