I’m super excited because today we are having a collaboration between WOW Embossing Powder and Birch Press Design.

Rainbow Fun!

1. Cut all of the flowers (both layers) from Neenah 80lb and you can colour them up up in whatever colours you want with whatever medium takes your fancy! This time, I chose ink blending and I used all Catherine Pooler inks for their gorgeous, vibrant finish! I’ve just got some new brushes and they were the PERFECT way to colour up these little die cuts quickly!
2. Colour both the main piece and the detail piece for each flower in the same ink; we are going to use an embossing trick to darken the detail piece up which is such an awesome technique to have in your repertoire, especially if you don’t have many colours!
3. Press each of the detail pieces into a WOW Embossing Pad and emboss in Neutral Ultra Shimmer. This will make those colours just a touch darker, but without changing or hiding any of that vibrancy & shade.
4. Glue each of the flowers together and set aside.
5. Ink blend a rainbow through the Twister stencil onto an a2 panel of 80lb Neenah. Start from the tightest rings and spiral out, working through the same colours that you used for the flowers, again using mini brushes for added precision!
6. Cut the main piece of the Hugs Sugar Script die from gold glitter cardstock and add another two plain cardstock die cuts behind it to add extra dimension. Then adhere that to a vellum shadow die cut.
7. Adhere the flowers around a space large enough to accommodate the sentiment; I found it was helpful to adhere every other flower first to help me get the right positioning, then add the ones that sit in between afterwards.
8. The die set does come with a die cut centre piece for the flowers, but I chose to carry the rainbow fun through even more by adding a coordinating coloured gem to the centre of each flower.
9. Add the ‘hugs’ die cut with foam adhesive tape.
10. To embellish further, add some additional gems randomly around the flowers.
