Hey Crafty People!
This card was so much fun to make and I’m sharing not one, but TWO super easy colouring tips! The first one is the easiest way to elevate your colouring, giving interest to your images, and the second is for making a quick background without any skill needed at all! ?
Super Easy Colouring
- Stamp several Turtles in an alcohol marker safe ink. Allow this to dry thoroughly before colouring.
- Choose 3-4 markers for each colour so that you have a Rainbow of Turtles. Before colouring all of their bodies in the same colour. (You can see a really quick video of how I coloured these cuties in, including a really easy tip to get maximum contrast.)
- Fussy or die cut these and add white gel pen accents, then set aside.
- Die cut the panel die from Heffy Doodle (linked below) out of Neenah 80lb and set the main piece aside.
- For super easy waves, choose a bunch of markers in different shades of blues/teals, then just start drawing wavy lines horizontally across the three cut out pieces. Cross the lines over each other, adding more of each shade until you’re happy with the overall look, then go over the whole thing with a pale blue.
- Optional: Add some sparkle with a few lines from a Stardust gel pen.
- Pop these pieces back into place onto an a2 cardbase, but use some additional cardstock layers behind for some added dimension.
- Die cut the sentiment from cardstock embossed with Tschenny’s Sky Embossing Powder, then offset with a second cut from holographic for an extra pop!
- Finish assembling the card by adhering the sentiment and Turtles with a mixture of liquid and foam adhesive.
- Embellish with clear bubbles, adding some by each Turtle to look like bubbles for a fun touch!
