Hey Crafty People!

Spellbinders have a fabulous new release and I’m sharing three ideas for using their new mini colour block dies.

Colour Block Triangles

The best way that I could find to create these layered die cuts, is to cut the solid shape from some cardstock with double sided adhesive on one side. Then I cut the layered pieces from a variety of cardstocks and stuck them onto the exposed adhesive. This worked really well for me.

I used Navy & Gold mirror cardstock to create these individual triangles, then I placed them into a continuous strip on my card front.

Both the sentiment and butterfly are pre mades from the January Card Kit of the Month! I backed the sentiment onto the same cardstock that I matted the white panel onto. Then I added some gems to embellish.

Colour Block Drops

I used three different red/pink cardstocks to create these beautiful drops, in the same way I made the triangles. Five of them sit nicely in a circle, and the pointed tips made me think of a Daffodil, so I learnt into that with the frilled circle I added to the centre. (This is a die from last month’s dancing man die set, I Dance; it is meant to create a rosette but I love how this works here!)

For my background, I foiled a dotted border in Matte Gold and layered it onto an a2 panel of one of the cardstocks I used for my drops.

For a focal element, I reached for the chipboard stickers from January’s Card Kit! I’ve been wanting to use this adorable pup since I got him and I think he looks SO CUTE!!! The sentiment is another piece from the same sticker set.

Colour Block Squares

I absolutely LOVE how this card turned out and I think it just might be my favourite of the set of three I’m sharing today.

For my colours I chose this green shade along with Gold mirror and Black mirror cardstocks. I adhered six of these onto a piece of scrap paper, so that I could use some foam tape to pop it up into the centre of an a2 panel of Neenah 80lb.

The sentiment is foiled in Matte Gold and it’s from February’s Glimmer Of The Month kit The die cut Monsters leaf is from February’s Large Die of the Month and I cut it from Neenah 80lb, adding some light grey shading with a small ink blending brush.
