I am so honoured to be June’s Mixed Media Guest Designer for Altenew and I’m here today sharing some inspiration and encouragement to explore what mixed media really means. So my project will include lots of ways to add easy mixed media for beginners right through to those feeling much more confident.
Today, I’m working on a double-page spread in my art journal, and I will be using a variety of techniques & mediums to create a visual diary entry.

I have never given much thought to what my favourite colour is, but recently I’ve begun to realize that I so often gravitate to blues & teals, as I did again here. To balance the colour palette and make that blue pop even more, I added touches of vibrant pink, and I love the combination of these together.
I made a promise to myself that I will never take a page out of this journal, so I always remind myself that if I don’t like what I have made on there, it’s because it just isn’t finished yet.
