A Much Needed Crafty Therapy Session |CCC Hop

Hey Crafty People!

Throughout the majority of the year, I have been participating in a monthly blog hop, where we choose a different crafty item & theme each month, in an effort to use up some of our hoarded goodies! I’m not sure whether we will be continuing the hop into the new year, and I wanted to say a huge thank you to the wonderful Squirrels who have worked hard to pull this together each month.

This month’s theme was Snowman and the supply was glitter/sparkles.

I wasn’t sure if I would be able to take part in this month’s hop as we are having a pretty rough few weeks and my inspiration has been in hiding; then the kindness & support I received from my crafty friends reminded me that sometimes we should focus less on the end result, and more on the process of creation. So that is just what I did.

I cut all of my elements from Neenah 80lb & some Gold mirror cardstock, using my Cameo 4 and REALLY simply coloured the various elements for my Snowman with Copics. I used only the ink that was still on* my blue Oxide Ink blending brush to give me a nice blue sky background. (*Yes, I really am that lazy and I aren’t even sorry!!) I stamped my sentiment on the sky with a darker blue ink once I had the other bits of my scene in place.

I stacked up the pieces that make the Snowglobe and sandwiched a piece of acetate between the top two pieces to create a shaker window which I filled with blue seed beads and silver stars.

For some added sparkle I grabbed a bottle of Stickles and put that all around the top frame of my Snowglobe window. I added a shaped & scored card panel which created my opening card base.

SUPER duper simple and just a lot of fun!

The next stop on the hop is the wonderfully talented & kind Lounon, so please be sure to head over there and give her some love! Along with all of the other uber talented, kind & funny ladies who I just know will have some amazing creations for you to see.

Please be aware:

As part of my Design Team and Guest Design work I do often receive free products to use, but I only ever recommend products that I genuinely love.

Also, I know how incredibly lucky I am to have these opportunities, but you don’t always NEED the newest products or the ‘full set’.
So please don’t feel that you need everything.
I like to show a variety of brands and products; this way there will be something for everybody to enjoy.

  1. I am so grateful that you were able to join our hop despite all the challenges. You are so talented and your creations always inspire me. This card is no exception! It has so much sparkly goodness!!

    1. Thank you so very much Anna! You have me grinning from ear to ear!! ??
I’m so grateful that I found you all and joined this hop, it has brought me fun, inspiration and friendship!! ??

  2. Tasha, you can hardly call yourself lazy considering you made a shaker card! And it is beautiful!!! The last few weeks have been tough here too, so I know how hard it is to find the mojo. And chronic pain is worsened with winter weather, at least mine is, so even when I have the mojo I don’t always have hands willing to cooperate with my creative ideas. I’m thrilled you persevered, especially because your card is gorgeous! Its been a pleasure having you in the group and while we are not continuing the hop into the new year, I do have another plan up my sleeve that I’ll let you know more about once we have the details fleshed out a bit more! Best wishes for you in the coming new year, sweetie! So thankful that this hop group brought us together as friends!!!

    1. Thank you so much Karen ?
I’m sorry that you are struggling in the cold weather, but I completely understand how it can affect pain! My best friend is my hot water bottle these days! My poor hubby has to refill it hourly some days!! ??

It’s honestly been a joy taking this journey with you all! It was the kick in the butt I needed to actually use my stash!!! ??

Plus, I’ve found it such a fantastic source of inspiration each month ??

Oooohhh!!! I am very intrigued and excited! Looking forward to hearing more about that!! ?

Yes, I feel the same ? I am so grateful to this wonderful hobby of ours for bringing me joy, laughter & friendship, and thankful to have you as a friend. ?

  3. I’m glad you made it for the hop, Tasha! This snowglobe is so adorable, fun and shiny! I hope all gets better soon for you and your family!

  4. Natasha, it’s so cute and I really like the design ! I hope things will be better for you and your family very soon !

  5. I am so glad you were able to join us! Not just this time, but every time! I love this snow globe with all the shiny bits and the sparkly snow! And that color is so perfect, I would have never guessed that was the ink that was just still on the blending tool! Cheers to that and to a new year!

  6. I’m so glad you were able to join us for this hop thing that we did; and especially that you could join us this month, despite all you’ve got going on! I love me a good shaker card, and when it has a snowman inside a snow globe? Even better! 🙂
