Today I’m taking part in an Altenew blog hop to celebrate Altenew Paint-A-Flower: Magnolia Rustica Rubra Release.
If you aren’t familiar with the Paint-A-Flower, it is a monthly, floral outline stamp set series, and it is available as a subscription service.
I love that these are smaller sets, so they have a really good value and they are so wonderfully versatile!
Creating Patterned Paper
I stamped the gorgeous Magnolia Rustica Rubria several times over an a2 panel of Neenah 80lb, in Permanent Black. To get a natural looking panel, be sure to stamp the image over the edge of the panel. Here, I started with the almost full image in the lower left hand side, moving up & out to keep an even space between each image.
Then I circled back to add that partial image in the very bottom corner.
To make natural looking white flowers, you always need to add a little shading so I used my Warm Grey Copics to add some. Once my images were all finished, I decided to colour the background space too which is such a Yana Smakula inspired technique!
Markers Used:
- W0, W1, W3 – Petals
- YG11, YG03 – Leaves
- Y17, YR15 – Flower Centres
- BG10 – Background
For my sentiment, I heat embossed one from the set in white super fine embossing powder onto black cardstock and trimmed it down into a thin strip
A few clear sequins finished it nicely.
