Today I’m sharing this fun and slightly sparkly Christmas card featuring Violet Aurora embossing powder from the gorgeous Celestial Harmony Duo. This colour is absolutely magical on chipboard, and I couldn’t resist giving my little cat a super glossy, dimensional finish. It’s one of those techniques that looks really fancy but is honestly so simple — perfect for a quick, and somewhat unorthodox, festive make with a big impact!

Creating the Violet Aurora Embossing Powder Chipboard Cat

I wanted the star of the show to be this glittery, glossy cat silhouette, so I grabbed a chipboard piece from my stash and layered up that stunning Violet Aurora embossing powder. The combination of sparkle and depth is just… chef’s kiss.Here’s how I made the card:

1. Press your chipboard cat directly into your WOW Embossing Ink Pad to get a nice even coating. Sprinkle Violet Aurora embossing powder over the whole thing and heat set until smooth and sparkly. Repeat this step for a second layer to intensify the colour.
2. Once the colour layers are done, press the cat back into your ink pad and cover it with WOW Clear Gloss Embossing Powder. Heat set and repeat for four layers in total. This creates the most beautiful enamel-like shine and loads of dimension.
3. Trim a piece of patterned paper from your stash to 4.25″ x 5.5″. I went for a soft, subtle print to let the cat take centre stage.
4. Using Versafine (my trusty favourite for crisp black stamping), stamp the sentiment from a Hero Arts set. I added the tiny Santa hat after using my Mini MISTI to make sure the placement was spot on.
5. Once everything was stamped and dry, I adhered the glossy cat in place and popped the panel onto a card base. Simple but oh-so-cute!

Wrapping Up

And that’s my Meowy Catmess card! I love how the Violet Aurora embossing powder steals the show with its sparkle and shine.
