This week we have an ‘Under The Sea’ theme and I wanted to go a bit more abstract for this one; I’ve used two digital stamps from Polkadoodles this week and I’ve linked to both of them at the bottom of my post for you to check out. I printed my sentiment onto a sheet of Neenah 80lb.

I chose a bunch of Copic markers and a few Winsor & Newton Brushmarkers in blue and turquoise shades that I thought would look good together but also had a broad range of tones so I would get those differences in colour across the panel.

I started with my lightest blue and just added swipes across the panel, (I had a panel slightly bigger than the size I wanted to have in the end so that I could cut this down.) I then just continued adding more horizontal swipes of colour, working through each different colour and kept going back to the lightest to blend.

Once I had good coverage of the whole panel, I left it to dry and then continued adding stripes of each colour; leaving time to allow each one to dry so that I would get some clearer stripes that aren’t blended into each other.

I trimmed the panel down and popped it up onto a standard A2 card base with foam adhesive tape.

I used my Cameo to draw out three of these little seedlings and added colour with Copics. The other part of the challenge this week is to use a blue colour scheme with a pop of colour; so I chose to add green seedlings with a white border to add some real contrast to the background.

I added some black Nuvo drops to tie in the sentiment to the rest of the design. I also added some Morning Dew Nuvo Jewell drops which dry clear; I wanted to add these as a further nod to the underwater theme as they look like bubbles rising up through the water.
