Hey Crafty People!
Today we are celebrating a brand new Alex Syberia Designs release with a fun IG hop, so if you want the chance to win a gift voucher for Alex’s store head on over to join the fun!
As soon as I saw these GORGEOUS shoes from this release I just knew I had to colour them!!
I don’t wear anything like this these days, chronic pain and a pretty serious chance of falling over when standing even without heels kind of put a stop to that!
So I decided to live vicariously through this pair of beauties!!!
Before I printed them I added a quote from the one & only Marilyn Monroe, because it is just too perfect for words.
Then I printed it and trimmed down to an a2 size.
I coloured the shoes themselves in with a single red because I knew I was going to emboss them, but I didn’t want any white showing through the embossing.
Then I coloured the bows in, here I used a blend of 4 different reds to create the shadows and highlights. It was pretty simple to do because Alex has provided the folds in her illustration, so I just added the darkest shadow there and worked out to the highlights.
I coloured the inside of the shoes a sort of tan colour which the inside of a pair of my shoes just happen to be.
Again, adding shadow with darker colours and blending out to the lighter ones.
Then I used my embossing magic buddy thing, all over because I knew there would be finger prints and all such that would pick up the embossing powder!
I coloured the whole of the shoe with Ultra Slow Drying Ink using my WOW embossing pen and then I tipped on Ruby Romance embossing glitter.
I LOVE how that turned out once I heat set it!!!
I finished my shoes with some ‘pearls’ courtesy of Trinity Stamps ‘Something New’ baubles.
So that’s my card!
I’m pretty happy with it!!!
