Today I’m sharing two cards that I made for the last WOW Embossing Powder release, using their new Pastel Pearl Trio. Each of the powders are hiding a secret hit of pearl which shows through when you have a darker background behind them.

I had fun playing around with how to use them, and different ways to get that beautiful pastel with a hint of pearl to show through.

Hint of Pearl – Green 3-Ways

1. Stamp the Bold Foliage background with Versafine Onyx Black and cover in Hint of Green. Heat set to see that green pearl to shine. Trim down to 3.75in x 5in and foam mount onto an a2 panel that you have dry embossed with a pattern background design.
2. Die cut the shadow for Jumbo Happy Birthday from Heffy Doodle out of Neenah Solar White and press into your WOW Embossing ink. Cover with Hint of Green and heat set.
3. Stack 2x layers of the words die cut from black cardstock and cover with Hint of Green. Heat set and allow to cool, before repeating this another 2x to build up that green colour. Adhere this to the shadow piece and then onto the background.
4. Embellish with white pearls, scattered over the Foliage background.

Hint of Pearl – Blue & Pink

1. Stamp your Bold Print background with Blue Hawaii Reactive Ink. Allow to dry and then brayer WOW Embossing Ink over the whole panel. Emboss with Hint of Blue pearl – you’ll get a pearl sheen all over but the blue will show over the dark blue inking! It’s a fun way to use these powders! Trim down to 4x 5.25in.
2. Swipe your WOW ink pad around the border of an a2 panel of black cardstock. Emboss in Hint of Blue. If you want a more intense colour, repeat this to make it a double layer. (I embossed mine twice.) Adhere the smaller panel directly onto this one.
3. Die cut 2 layers of ‘H’ & ‘I’ from black cardstock, adhere together to get a thicker, more sturdy letter. Press into your WOW Embossing ink and emboss in Hint of Pink, repeat another 2x for a stronger colour. Adhere onto your panel, in the lower right hand corner.
