Altenew Craft-A-Flower: Peruvian Lily Layering Die Set Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hey Crafty People

Today I’m taking part in an Altenew blog hop to celebrate the release of the latest Craft-A-Flower: Peruvian Lily.

If you aren’t familiar with the Craft-A-Flower, it is a monthly, floral layering die set series, and it is available as a subscription service.

In honour of complete transparency, I must admit that I’ve NEVER worked with one of these layering die flowers before!!!

So I thought it would be really helpful to create a video tutorial for how these actually work, and show an accurate representation of the first time I’ve ever worked with them.

This is a monthly subscription plan for our Craft-A-Flower die set. When signed up, you are guaranteed a spot in our monthly Craft-A-Flower releases and will receive a set each month – at a specially discounted price! ($35.99 ?$29.99)

To celebrate the release of this latest Craft-A-Flower, Altenew are hosting a fun blog hop, the full list is below but feel free to head over to the Altenew Card Blog to start at the beginning of the hop!

Of course there are prizes to be won along the way!

$200 in total prizes! To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $50 gift certificate to 2 lucky winners and a $20 gift certificate to 5 winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and/or each designer’s blog post on the blog hop list below by 6/13/2021 for a chance to win. Altenew will draw 7 random winners from the comments left on each stop of this blog hop and announce the winners on the Altenew Winners Page on 06/15/2021.

Layering Your Florals

I decided to start by cutting all of the necessary pieces from Neenah 110lb cardstock; this way I would be able to colour each layer myself and it was also a really good way to get a feel for how the pieces layer together before committing to which colour I wanted them to be.

I coloured the florals using Sea Shore inks using my small and large blending tools, and I added that pop of pink using inks from the Cherry Blossom family. I love the way those teals and pinks look together; it’s a personal favourite of mine.

I used Green Meadows inks to colour the layers of my leaves.

It may seem like a daunting task to begin with, but if you follow the helpful layering guide that comes in the packaging, you can tell where each piece fits in and also, which pieces should be the same colour.

Using 110lb cardstock gave me a really beautiful, and sturdy, floral element; this was what I wanted, but it does mean that the final card, well…she thicc.

For my background I used the new Waffled Diamonds 3d embossing powder from the recent Amazing Adventures release, and I stamped my sentiment in Obsidian ink, which I then embossed in clear. The sentiment stamp is from Hello Hydrangea; which is one of my go to sets for interesting sentiments like this.

You should have arrived to me from the amazing Sande Woodson

Next up on this hop is the uber talented Anna Mahtani and the full blog hop lineup is at the bottom of this post for your information!

Thank you so much for stopping by today, if you’re new here then I hope that you will consider subscribing.
