Mini Delight: Birthday Banner Release

Happy Birthday To Youuuu….

I started with the Birthday Banner itself, stamping it out onto some watercolour cardstock using my MISTI to help get a good position and stamp each time.
I was intending to add watercolour, hence the paper, but I decided to change up my plan and I really didn’t want to stamp out the whole thing again! ?

You get a banner die with the set, but this doesn’t cut the ends or the folded over portions of the banner because you can add these on wherever you want, to get a basically limitless banner length. So I fussy cut my banner and it really was quick & easy to do.

Using Dies Differently

I wanted to find a different way to use the die that comes with, so I backed lots of Gilded glitter cardstock offcuts that I had with some double sided adhesive, before cutting out lots of banner pieces from them.
I started to lay them all out onto some Neenah 80lb cardstock in a sort of brick lay style, and once I had a large enough area, I used the Fine Frames Diamond set to cut the largest diamond from the homemade glitter patterned paper.

My banner sits really nicely on top of this diamond and I love how it looks!
I wanted to keep the card quite clean looking but still have a textured background and I thought that the Waffled Diamonds embossing folder would work perfectly.
