Build-A-Garden: Nature’s Magic

Those gorgeous flowers in the new Build-A-Garden set look absolutely beautiful coloured with some vibrant Artist’s Markers.

Craft A Flower: Cape Margerite

The gorgeous new Craft-A-Flower is only of my favourite styles to work with; big, open flowers that are super quick & easy to put together!

I cut all of the pieces from Neenah 80lb cardstock and coloured each piece in with Copic markers.
Using lighter colours on the foremost petals to help create a really natural, 3d effect. (I added slightly darker colour to the base of each of the petals to add some shade to the centre of the flower.)

The leaves for this set are each just a single layer, which I coloured with more Copic markers.

I love the really vibrant, bright and happy colours for these florals!
It will no doubt make zero sense to anyone who isn’t in my closest family group but these flowers have been known as Daft Daisies for as long as I can remember. So I wanted the colours for this card, match the happy memories that Daft Daisies bring to my mind. ???

For a simple background, I added a Diamond Frame die cut onto another a2 panel for some subtle interest.

Craft Your Life Project Kit: Silk Art

Mini Delight: Hooray!

This month’s Mini Delight lends itself perfectly to a fun gift tag, so I stamped out the two-step ‘hip’ twice along with the single stamp hooray and die cut them all out.

To create a tag, I cut the Bookmark dieTo give me that beautiful, ornate detailing at the top, then shifted the die up to cut it again. (You could trim with a paper trimmer instead, but I wanted the bottom edge to have that crisp die cut edge to match the top.)

For some added interest, I ink blended orange ink through a stencil, allowing the colour to naturally fade off towards the top. Then I added the die cut words, with two layers of cardstock behind them, for dimension.

Paint A Flower: Flowering Dogwood

‘One of the best things about the Paint-A-Flower subscription is that you (almost) always get a large image that includes more than one flower in an arrangement. (No masking – YAY!)

I had fun colouring this one with Artist Markers, leaving a nice highlight in the centre of the petal folds.

To frame the image, I drew a thin line with a fineliner and t-ruler. A really simple, one layer card design.
