Hey Crafty People!

I’m sharing the details for the card that I posted yesterday on Instagram, using some gorgeous Erin Lee Creative products.
This is an easy technique using alcohol markers to add colouring over foiled images; another in my current Fun With Foil series.

Copic Colouring Over Foiled Images

1. Foil the Protea hot foil plate onto your preferred cardstock (I used Neenah 80lb) using the Pewter Glimmer foil.
2. Begin by colouring the florals, adding BG75 to the bases of the petals, blending it out through BG19, BG23 & BG10. Add more of the darkest colour to the flower centres and anywhere else you’d like to have more shadow.
3. Colour the foliage in the same way using YG95, YG63 E15 & E50.
4. For the background spaces between each of the flowers, add R20. If you are colouring the background, be sure that your marker is full and/or you have a re-inker available. (I love adding colour into the background as well.)
5. Once you’ve finished colouring the panel, you can easily clean up any of the ink that’s sitting on top of the foil with a colourless blender. (Just be careful not to touch any of the coloured images with the blender marker, as it could push/pull some of the pigment where you don’t want it to be.
6. Trim down the panel and mat it onto some Silver foil cardstock. (Cut a chunk from the centre of the silver piece so that you aren’t wasting it, because the coloured panel will be hiding all of that bit anyway!)
7. Add a sentiment from an Erin Lee die cut set, using the same silver for the sentiment and matting it onto a vellum background.
8. Finish the design with a few gems to embellish.
