Highlighting An Embossed Image
I am absolutely loving these 3d Embossing Folders that Altenew have been releasing! They are the perfect tool to create quick & easy, yet incredible cards!
Here, I ran an a2 panel of burgundy cardstock from my stash, through my machine in the new Rosy 3d EF, and to be honest, it looked good just like that, but I wanted to step it up a little more!
I very gently rubbed my embossing ink pad across the embossed image, making sure to get ink across the whole image but without pressing the pad down. This is because I just wanted to get the ink onto the very tips of the petals, on the highest embossed parts.
Once I was happy I had got ink in all the places I wanted it; this is super easy with this kind of dark cardstock, because you can see the shiny ink really clearly. I then used a soft bristled make up brush, (I use an eye shadow blending brush,) to apply some Perfect Pearls powder onto the wet ink. The powder sticks to the ink, but easily brushes off the rest of the cardstock, leaving you with these gorgeous, highlighted areas!
This really makes the image POP! I love it!
For my sentiment I cut the new Fancy Hugs die from Dazzling Diamond glitter cardstock, and stacked this on top of two white 80lb die cuts, for a dimensional look. I just glued this on top of my embossed panel and this card was done!

Adding A POP Of Colour To A Monochrome Design
I used the new Woven Stripes background stamp to create a really striking monochrome background; Obsidian Pigment ink on a panel of Neenah 80lb Solar White.
Then I stamped the outlines of the two flowers from the new Inky Lily stamp set, along with several leaves, again using Obsidian. (I used the larger flower twice.)
Once I was happy that the ink would be completely dry, I lined up the solid areas, stamping these down then moving onto the shadow stamps for each. I finished with the ‘inky splatter’ layers. These stamps are SO EASY to line up!! They would be perfect for the less experienced stamper who wants to venture into the world of stamp layering.
I used the Martian Terrain inks, starting with the lightest ink for the larger flowers and the second lightest for the smaller one. Each layer, I went one ink darker; so the second layer of the large flowers is the same ink as the first layer of the smaller one.
The sentiment is from the Inky Lily set, stamped in Obsidian then trimmed into a rectangle. I used glue to stick on the two larger flowers & leaves, then foam adhesive behind the smallest flower & sentiment.

Show-Stopping 3D Embossing Folder Technique
I was so excited when this technique worked, and I absolutely love how these cards both turned out! (Be sure to scroll across to see both designs.)
I used the Modern Hello stamp set, to make feminine and masculine card designs to show how versatile this stamp set and this technique really are! This is an absolutely incredible release, and I love so many of the products but I think Modern Hello might just be my favourite.
