Hey Crafty People
Today I’m taking part in an Altenew blog hop to celebrate Altenew Paint-A-Flower: Gerbera Revolution Release.
If you aren’t familiar with the Paint-A-Flower, it is a monthly, floral outline stamp set series, and it is available as a subscription service.
I love that these are smaller sets, so they have a really good value and they are so wonderfully versatile!
Patterned Paper
I stamped the image onto a beautiful piece of patterned paper using Obsidian for a crisp, black outline. Then l fussy cut the image close to the outline. I did contemplate paper piecing by stamping the image repeatedly on different pieces of paper and fussy cut each separate element to put back together on my project but when I saw the image on this sheet l absolutely loved it as it was.
For my background, I cut an a2 panel of another floral paper and then a slightly smaller panel which I distressed by scraping the blade of my scissors against the edges. I added a strip of baby pink diagonally which could sit directly behind my florals.
Adding Instant Dimension foam tape between each layer adds some nice dimension. A stamped sentiment and some Satin white sequins finish the design nicely.
Altenew Paint-A-Flower: Gerbera Revolution Outline Stamp Set Release Giveaway
$200 in total prizes! To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $50 gift certificate to 2 lucky winners and a $20 gift certificate to 5 winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and/or each designer’s blog post on the blog hop list below 4/28/2022 for a chance to win.
Altenew will draw 7 random winners from the comments left on each stop of this blog hop and announce the winners on the Altenew Winners Page on 4/30/2022.
Rainbow Stripes
After stamping the image with Obsidian onto the corner of an a2 panel of Neenah 80Ib, I used some Satin masking tape to mask off a strip at a time to ink blend a rainbow.
- Crimson (Red Sunset)
- Autumn Blaze (Warm & Cozy)
- Maple Yellow (Sunshine In Your Pocket)
- Just Green (Meadow Green)
- Persian Blue (Glacier Caves)
- Plum (Sugarplums)
Once my rainbow was complete I added a stamped sentiment to the lower left hand side to balance out the design.

Lovely designs Tasha, thanks for the inspiration! Have a wonderful weekend!
Beautiful job with your cards. tyfs 🙂
Never thought of using patterned paper, awesome idea, thank you.
Love how different your cards are. I think my favorite is the second one with the rainbow.
These are great ideas! 🙂
You did a wonderful job recreating the colors of the patterned paper on the first card, and such a contrast of colors and lines on the rainbow card.
Cool designs! Love the rainbow! The Gerberas are stunning!
Thanks for sharing your cute cards!
I LOVE this! You may or may not realize that the government in Florida recently passed a bill that is referred to as the “Don’t Say GAY” law. Rainbow’s first reminded me if G-d’s promise. Now, this bavkwards,, discriminatory, hateful law pops into my head first! I love gerbera daisies! They hold their color well!
Thank you 🙂 Yes, l have seen this in the news and tbh, it makes me so sad. I hope this rainbow brings a smile to those who need it.
Love both cards, very clever to use patterned paper and just a hint if rainbow colors for the second.
I like the different looks you achieved.
Very nice cards, Tasha! Love them both.
So pretty! I love the idea of using the patterned paper for your image! Beautiful rainbow too!
I love the pink, peach, and fuschia colors you used on the flowers, very pretty!
Beautiful cards! I need to stamp flowers on patterned paper more often!
Beautiful cards. Thanks for sharing.
This really caught my eye! Great job with the fussy cutting; it turned out amazing.
I am going to challenge myself to do a big stamped image over patterned paper. This is so neat looking. <3
