Hey Crafty People!
It’s time for another Collected Crafty Collabs Hop! Each month we choose a theme & a type of supply that often sits in your stash and we make something beautiful with it!! This month the theme is Thankful and our supply is Foil.
I printed two card panels using Alex Syberia’s gorgeous Autumn Leaves border image and I typed out the sentiments myself using fonts I have within my Silhouette Studio.
If you’ve been to my blog or other socials before, you’ll know that I love me some good foiling!! And in a sort of waste not – want not mentality I keep the negative pieces left over from each time I’ve foiled. I have built up quite a collection of these odds & ends so I decided to try to use them up! ??
After one of the techniques I tried in my last foiling tutorial worked so well, it spurred another idea that used that same technique. I was really hoping it would work so I decided to try a little experiment.
I have to admit that it worked even better than I hoped and I’m so excited by the results!!!
Once I had my foiled card panels I decided to keep one as it is to let that foil really shine and I added some Fall colour to the second.
I used several CP inks to add colour over the leaves; I wasn’t overly careful about where the inks were, allowing them to bleed out of the images towards the centre of the panel. I used Mandarin Spice, Peppermint Scrub, Eucalyptus and Green Tea.
Once I had done that I wanted to give the leaves themselves a bit more definition, so I grabbed my Arteza coloured pencils and added some extra colour over the top of the inking. I really like how that brought back the definition of the images.
I matted each foiled panel onto a piece of black cardstock, leaving a very thin border before attaching to an a2 card made from 110lb Neenah Solar White.
I had a black box round one of the sentiments and I popped it up on foam tape to my coloured panel. I trimmed the second sentiment a little smaller and then matted that onto some more of the black card, this sentiment went in the same position on the un-coloured panel.
I finished both cards off with some sparkly black sequins from Kat Scrappiness!
Now I’d love to know, what do you do with your foiling scraps? Do you keep them or get rid?
Next up on the hop is Mary Ellen! Please go show them some love, along with all the crafter’s participating in today’s hop!
Hey Crafty People!
Please be aware:
As part of my Design Team and Guest Design work I do often receive free products to use, but I only ever recommend products that I genuinely love.
Also, I know how incredibly lucky I am to have these opportunities, but you don’t always NEED the newest products or the ‘full set’.
So please don’t feel that you need everything.
I like to show a variety of brands and products; this way there will be something for everybody to enjoy.

These are absolutely gorgeous!!!! I don’t foil yet, but being raised by depression-era grandparents, I know I would have the same no waste mindset! Definitely keeping this in mind for the future!!!!
I love them both ! They are stunning !
Natasha these are so very pretty! Love the color of the first one!
Tasha,
WOW, these cards are GORGEOUS!!! I am totally in love with the one with all that color…it looks just like my backyard, except way prettier! I myself don’t do a whole bunch of foiling, and what I have done has only been small sentiments, so I did not save those. Thanks for hopping along with us! 🙂
So stunningly gorgeous cards, Tasha ?????? Love them both!! I am so close to jumping into foiling and I am sure I’ll be saving all the bits and pieces leftovers 😀
Gorgeous card!
Beautiful cards Tasha! I love what you did with your foil scraps. So clever!
GORGEOUS Tasha!!!!
Your cards are really beautiful! Lovely colours. I keep all my scraps of foil. I tend to keep all my scraps of everything!
