Repurpose Non Crafty Items
I always love to look at stuff that I already own to see if I can repurpose it for a crafty pursuit. Not to mention, when I’m out & about, sometimes I see something and instantly know how I could switch up its intended use for a fun crafty way. Craft products tend to be expensive, but you can get the same, or similar products marketed differently for loads cheaper.
The backhround on these cards is made from some gift wrapping accents that I picked up from IKEA for less than £2! There’s LOADS of it too so it will last me forever!!!
Multi Stamping
If you love the look of layered stamp images, like these Tulips, but you don’t have the budget, or space, to have hundreds of different ink colours/shades then this tip is definitely for you!
Stamping with the same ink multiple times will give you darker shades; especially if you let the ink dry between layers!
For these leaves & stems, I used the same ink for the first two layers but because I stamped multiple times that second layer looks darker!
Custom Colour Embellishments
Rather than purchasing dozens of different colour embellishment packs, try using your Copic/alcohol markers to add whatever colour you need onto white embellishments?!
Thats how I got these orange & pink embellishments to match my cards! They’re Altenew’s Essential white acrylic dots and I just added my chosen colours on them. This will only work with some form of alcohol ink though, not water based.
Shop Around
You can save a HUGE amount of money just by being particular about where you get your supplies from.
here, in the UK, it can be difficult…and expensive…shopping for US standard sizes but there’s only one place that I got for my a2 envelopes; Heffy Doodle! Decent quality, perfect size and oh my goodness, such amazing value!

Also, I know how incredibly lucky I am to have these opportunities, but you don’t always NEED the newest products or the ‘full set’.
So please don’t feel that you need everything.
