Craft-a-Flower; Water Lily

1. Cut all of the pieces needed to create one full Lily, two buds and a pad from white 80lb cardstock.
2. Seperate the pieces and colour using the Beach Garden markers based on the instructions from the CAF packaging. (I used all four of the Orange markers for my blooms and the grey markers for the other bits.)
3. To get a realistic and 3d curve to the petals, place them face down on some high density foam and use a ball tool to work the back of the petal. (Check out my Reel for a closer look on how I do this.)
4. Glue the layers together and set aside.
5. Create an abstract watery background with the four blue markers out of the Beach Garden marker set by simply colouring in stripes. Use a ruler to help get straight edges to each stripe, but you can cover any issues easily….maybe just add some thin strips of Silver mirror cardstock. (And they’ll never know ?)
6. Mirror the angle of the stripes with a stacked sentiment, silver cardstock on top to match those stripes!

Lotus Frame – How to ink blend white flowers

1. Stamp out several flowers & foliage along with the Frame image with Obsidian ink onto Neenah 80lb cardstock and allow to dry fully.
2. To colour these flowers white, you just need to skip the first stencil layer and add some very light grey ink using the second layer. Then add slightly darker grey using the third layer. That pale grey works as a shadow which makes the flowers look more 3d.
3. Ink blend the flower centre and the foliage following the steps on the stencil set.
4. Die cut all of the pieces and set aside.
5. Colour the frame using the blue markers from the new Beach Garden marker set and then die cut this too.
6. Ahere Silver mirror cardstock behind the frame opening and then attach the flowers & leaves using a combination of liquid glue & foam adhesive.
7. Dry emboss an a2 panel with the Chequered Diamonds 3d embossing folder and pop up the frame with more foam tape.
8. Stamp a sentiment then trim this and attach with more foam tape.

Craft A Flower: Clean & Simple…Not Boring!

1. Cut all of the pieces from the CAF from 80lb, add shading to the bottom of the petals with grey marker and ink blend pink on the petal tips. (Use darker pinks on the furthest away petals.)
2. Colour the pad with green markers and the flower centres with orange/yellow.
3. Curl the petals to give a more 3d effect to the finished flower and adhere with liquid glue.
4. To create a super clean & simple backdrop for the floral, dry emboss an a2 panel with the Circle Frame 3d EF.
5. Position the floral within this embossed circle.
6. Add a stacked sentiment , with gold mirror cardstock on the top and for an extra pop of metallic, add some gold gel pen to the tips of the flower Stamens.
