Crafting My Place In The World

Distress Foundry Wax | Not Stitching Stitched Dies

Hey Crafty People!

I decided to have a play with the new Foundry Wax from Tim Holtz, just to see what it does on paper and I thought that it was a good opportunity to create a card using a stitching die without doing any of the stitching.

I cut two of the stitched ‘s’ letters from 120lb cardstock and glued them together to give me a really sturdy base for the Foundry Wax.

The wax starts as a liquid but quickly starts to set once it’s out of the bottle, so I used an old paintbrush to apply some a bit at a time straight from my craft mat. Once it was covered, I just heated it with my heat gun and it almost instantly changed into this metallic shine.
(It hardly takes any time at all so as soon as you see it start changing, move the heat to another portion.)

I trimmed down a panel of Neenah 80lb to 4in x 5.25in and I matted it on an a2 panel of 120lb that I painted the Foundry Wax onto. (I just added some around the border, where it would be seen. There’s no need to waste any of it that would be hidden.)

Those gold shapes are cut with the Colour Block mini dies that were released last month and I added a foiled sentiment that was in my little pot of sentiments that are waiting to find a home.

Please be aware:

As part of my Design Team and Guest Design work I do often receive free products to use, but I only ever recommend products that I genuinely love.

Also, I know how incredibly lucky I am to have these opportunities, but you don’t always NEED the newest products or the ‘full set’.
So please don’t feel that you need everything.
I like to show a variety of brands and products; this way; this way there will be something for everybody to enjoy.
