Do What Makes You Happy | YouTube Milestone Celebration Hop

Hey Crafty People!

I recently hit 1000 subscribers on my YouTube channel, and my amazing best crafty mate, Erica, hit 3000 on hers! We couldn’t pass up the opportunity to have a Milestone Celebration and we went with the theme ‘Do What Makes You Happy!’

Do What Makes You Happy…With Rainbows!

  1. Foil your Glimmer border plate onto Neenah 80lb cardstock in Rose gold foil. Also, foil a coordinating sentiment using the same foil but onto smooth black cardstock.
  2. Fussy cut your sentiment, and trim your foiled background down to a2 size.
  3. Using a various colours of Distress Oxides, ink blend a rainbow down, covering the entire foiled area. If you want a sharp line where the colour ends then add a piece of low tack tape or masking paper, but I chose to let my colour fade off gently.
  4. The foil will resist the ink, in a similar way to heat embossing, so once you’ve got your colour laid down just buff the ink off the foiled image using a microfibre cloth.
  5. Add your sentiment using foam adhesive tape pieces.
  6. Embellish with a rainbow of gem stickers.
  7. Glue a thin, black frame to add extra interest and bring eyes to the centre of the design. (I went back to my card, after filming and decided to add this frame and I think it really does bring everything together!)

  2. Fussy cut the sentiment, and trim the background panel down to allow for a 1/4 inch border when matted onto an a2 panel of patterned paper. (This rainbow pattern is from a previous Spellbinders card kit.)
  3. Embellish with more Rainbow gems!

Please be aware:

As part of my Design Team and Guest Design work I do often receive free products to use, but I only ever recommend products that I genuinely love.

Also, I know how incredibly lucky I am to have these opportunities, but you don’t always NEED the newest products or the ‘full set’.
So please don’t feel that you need everything.
I like to show a variety of brands and products; this way; this way there will be something for everybody to enjoy.
