Hey Crafty People!
I was super excited to get my hands on Altenew’s latest Alcohol Marker set, and of course the first thing I needed to do was Swatch out these gorgeous new colours! I was having so much fun playing with them that I created these easy, free hand alcohol marker backgrounds!
I’d love to show you how!
Once i had my backgrounds, I turned two of them into really simple cards and I’ve got a process Reel to show for each of those too!
Warm Sunrise
- Create an ombre of Orange using the four orange markers from the Beach Garden set, trim this down and add to an a2 panel of Kraft cardstock.
- Die cut several foliage pieces from the same Kraft cardstock, stacking them up with Gilded glitter cardstock die cuts on the top.
- Position the different die cuts into an arrangement that you’re happy with and adhere with some dots of strong glue to the bottoms. Add them to the card panel.
- Tear a piece of Vellum around 1.75inches thick and adhere to the panel by wrapping it around, securing from the back.
- Die cut a sentiment from this month’s Craft A Flower set, stacking Gilded glitter cardstock onto slightly offset Kraft. Adhere this to the vellum strip.

Cool Toned Abstract
- Colour a repeating pattern of rough squares with the four blue markers from Beach Garden marker set, using fine pencil lines to guide you.
- Once finished, stamp the Weaving Lines background stamp over the top with the very dark blue Jewel Tone ink colour.
- Die cut sentiments from the Copper Brushes Cardstock, adding 1110lb white cardstock for extra pops of white.
- adhere with foam adhesive for added dimension.
