Sometime I have an idea in my head, and I set about creating it, but when I do something just isn’t right.

It just feels…flat?

In this case I was happily creating each piece, but when I went to put it together, it just didn’t work. The background was too much and the Butterflies & sentiment were just lost completely.

I embossed the gorgeous floating petals background from MFT in white superfine powder then I added colour using two of the watercolour brush markers from Altenew. Warm Sunshine & Autumn Blaze, both from the Spring Bouquet set.

Whilst this dried I cut four of each of my Butterflies and sentiment from Neenah 80lb. I used the freestyle roller tool from WOW to apply embossing ink to one of each and embossed them in Gold.

I really like the imperfect coverage you get from using the roller ball tool!

Unfortunately both the Butterflies & Congrats die are now unavailable, but there are many similar ones available to purchase. I will link some similar dies below!

Adding the vallum layer behind the Butterflies, and then adding the sentiment to a strip of Vellum really helps to differentiate the die cuts from that bright, busy background.

When attaching vellum you need to be careful where you add the adhesive as it shows through the vellum; so I only add glue behind the die cut Butterflies.

To attach the vellum strip I folded it at the edge of the card panel each side and glued it to the back of the panel with a strong double sided tape.
