Hey Crafty People!
Today I’m sharing two very different cards—one clean and elegant, the other bold and layered—but they both started from the exact same panel. It’s a great reminder that with a little planning, you can stretch your supplies and create multiple looks from just one crafty session! So let’s make 2 Cards with a Single Sparkly Panel
Sparkled Butterfly on Clean Background
- Start with a panel of Neenah 80lb cardstock covered in double-sided adhesive trimmed to 4.25″x5.5″.
- Die cut a large butterfly (Picket Fence Studios) from the adhesive panel, being sure to keep both the butterfly and the outside frame.
- Peel the adhesive from the wings only, leaving the body covered.
- Apply Blue Earth Sparkles to the outer parts of the wings, then Navy Earth Sparkles to the centres.
- Burnish the glitter with your fingertip to lock it in.
- Peel the final backing from the body and cover it in Ebony Embossing Powder. Heat set and repeat using the WOW Embossing Pen, for added dimension.
- Dry emboss a panel of Neenah 80lb with a plaid embossing folder for subtle texture. Add black ink or watercolour splatter to the background.
- Die cut mini butterflies and a sentiment from silver mirror card, layering them with extra die cuts for dimension.
- Adhere the butterfly, sentiment and mini butterflies to complete the look.
Easy Mixed Media Style with a Bold Twist
- Take the leftover outside piece of the adhesive panel and peel back the liner. Cover with White Earth Sparkles and burnish well.
- Use patterned paper for a quick mixed media-style background. Trim to A2 size.
- Cut ?” off each side of your sparkly panel and mount it to the centre with foam tape.
- Trim reverse sentiments from Sweet Sentiments Fab Foilers and arrange them diagonally across the butterfly silhouette, popping them up on foam adhesive.
- Die cut mini butterflies and emboss with powders from Enchanted Alchemy Quad for that final bit of sparkle and movement
