When I needed a masculine card I drew some inspiration from the lesson regarding Geometry and decided to have a play with repeating shapes.

I chose a few scrap pieces of cardstock & some vellum from my stash, along with several circular hole punches of varying size. I set about cutting those circles out, then played around with placing them onto a card front in different patterns to see what I liked.

I glued some flush to the card and added more dimension by popping others up on adhesive foam tape.

I also added a simple border using a gold sharpie and cut out a this ‘Hello’ sentiment from the new Altenew Bold Greetings die set; I think it is the perfect style to fit in with Geometric designs! I used the same gold Sharpie to colour the sentiment after die cutting it, then added a few metallic stud embellishments.

I used Altenew’s Milky Way stencil & three blue inks by Hero Arts over some Neenah Solar White. Once they were dry I flipped the stencil over and lined it up so that the smaller stars were sitting pretty central in each of the blue stars; I added some Versamark ink and embossed these smaller stars in Metallic Rich Gold. (These stars didn’t come out very clearly but I still like the way the gold looks against the blue & white.) I cut this panel down and added a wider panel of Vellum behind it, then attached this diagonally over my background panel.

I personalised the card by adding the name of its recipient in Gold Pearl and Blue glitter card stock using Altenew’s Tall Alphas die set.

I decided to use a sentiment stamp repeatedly stamped to create a full background; so I took a sentiment from the Birthday Greetings stamp set by Altenew and repeatedly stamped it using an acrylic block. When you are repeatedly stamping in the sort of design it’s much easier to use an acrylic block than a MISTI, just be careful and slow down to make sure you get everything lined up nicely. I left a space on every third row so that I could emboss the sentiment in gold, but it is much easier to continue stamping everything in the same ink before going back to emboss afterwards.

I cut this panel down to sit on a Gold Pearl panel with a small border all around, this was then sized to cover a standard card base and worked on the other element for my card.
