I’m really happy to be invited to Guest Design on Alex Syberia’s September release. There are lots of amazing designs in this release, and I had so much fun playing with them! It was a little more of a stretch for me this time, because I’m being forced to explore other mediums until I get some Copic refills. My printer won’t take any watercolour or Bristol paper either, so watercolours are a non starter!

I decided to take advantage of the printable vellum and gorgeous mini ink pads I’ve got in my stash.

I printed the wreath twice onto Vellum using the Print and Cut feature of Silhouette Studio so that I could cut the wreath out. I love how it turned out! (*But it was a bit of a faff trying to get the wreath up off my sticky mat without ripping it!)

When I printed the wreaths I also printed a couple of sentiments and got my Cameo to cut those out too. (*One is by Rachel Vass, the other is Graciellie Design.)

I grabbed a couple of 80lb card panels and after choosing my colour schemes, I got out an Altenew green set and for a warmer version I used Mustard Seed, Honey & Crackling Campfire Distress Inks.

I took each ink in turn, starting with the lightest, and just wiped them back and forth across the paper a couple of times. I chose to overlap them a little.

Once I was happy with the ink on the paper I spritzed them with my mini mister of water & Perfect Pearls to give it a beautiful, soft shimmer.

I trimmed both panels down to 4 x 5.25in so that I would have a nice, white border around each and added a wreath and sentiment to each. I chose ‘Autumn Blessings’ for the green and ‘A cozy hello’ for the warm orange/reds.

I added them to a2 110lb card bases with foam tape and added a few embellishments to each, choosing clear drops for the green card and some orange gems and brass type studs for the other.
