Hey Crafty People!

I had so much fun playing with some new-to-me goodies from Pretty Pink Posh, so I went a bit overboard but I’m happy to be putting loads of HUGS out into the world!
I wanted to trial out a super easy colouring technique, and these little images are perfect for this because they’re so quick to colour!

Colouring Fun

Stamp out a whole bunch of the images in Blackout ink on your preferred Copic friendly cardstock (I used Copics, but you could try the same technique with whatever your preferred colouring medium is.)

1. Go over the whole area in your lightest colour
2. Add dots of the darkest colour in the very darkest shadows
3. Move back through your colours, adding dots of colour that work out to the lightest.
4. If you’d rather a slightly more blended look, go over the whole image again with your lightest colour.
5. For an extra detail, add lines & dots in white gel pen to act as highlights.

Dies are so handy for these teensy little images, so I cut them all out with the coordinating die set.

(Don’t Be So) Negative Shaker!

1. Paint an ombre blend of Lindy’s Magicals onto a piece of mixed media/watercolour paper. Be sure to check that the painted area is larger that our HUGS die, and then set aside to dry.
2. Cut the ‘hugs’ die from some Rose Gold Brushed Metallic cardstock from Altenew. To get good placement on your finished card, cut down your cardstock to an a2 panel before you die cut it, this way you can choose exactly where to place the die.
3. Adhere some acetate to the back of this window, and then apply a generous amount of foam adhesive; to save on shaker bits, place foam right up to the window, and be sure that there are no gaps or the pieces could escape when the card is shaken!
4. Fill the shaker area with a generous amount of ‘bits’; I used some mini seed beads and pink confetti sequins that I’ve had sitting in my stash forever.)
5. Apply another piece of acetate to the back of this shaker area, adhering it right onto that foam adhesive. This way you can now pick up the shaker and apply it exactly where you want it to sit on your background.
6. Once your shaker is adhered to the ombre background, add a stamped sub sentiment from the HUGS stamp set, along with a variety of the cute little images!
7. For some extra fun, embellish with coordinating colours of pearls/hearts/gems etc.

On The Positive Side

1. Stack up some extra die cuts behind each of the letters, and adhere them to an a2 panel of Neenah 80lb cardstock.
2. Trim the bottom 1/2 inch off this panel, and add a strip of the same Brushed Metallic cardstock. (I like to add a bit more than I will need, which then allows me to trim it to size after it’s stuck down. Then you know that edge is definitely, completely straight.
3. Add a stamped sub sentiment.
4. To decorate the card, add a bunch of those coloured images. You can add them onto the letters, and around them using a combination of liquid glue & foam adhesive.
5. Again, finish with coordinating colours of fun embellishments!

Heat Embossed Window

1. Ink blend an ombre through the mini grids stencil onto an a2 panel of Neenah 80lb. Die cut the HUGS die from this panel to give a negative window area. (You can totally use these die cuts for another project, so don’t get rid of them!!!)
2. Stamp & emboss the HUGS image onto some heat resistant acetate, in Gold embossing powder. Then adhere this behind the window.
3. Create another shaker, like we did in the first card, this time only add clear/white bits so that you can still clearly see the embossing. Then adhere a piece of Navy cardstock to the back of it.
4. Now, it’s more of the same; stamped sub sentiment, cute little images and matching embellishments!
