Well I am back with some more inspiration from The Little Paper Tree after a month of recharging my creative batteries and I am jumping straight in with another Geometric beauty by Lesia Zgharda.
I am a sucker for Geometrics, so I had to get this as soon as I saw it; and of course I had to paint it blue. There was really no choice in the matter!
I stamped the image and sentiment out onto a piece of Bristol Smooth because I was feeling the urge to break out my Arteza Real Brush Markers. They are water based, but they won’t work well on a watercolour or mixed media paper, Bristol really is the best paper I’ve tried them on.
I grabbed a handful of blue markers, put me some Taylor Swift on, and genuinely, I just started colouring; I really didn’t over think it. Not looking for perfection, just some quality crafty time. I chose two of the blues, a segment of the moon and made a bit of an ombré kinda deal! I didn’t add any water, just let the markers themselves blend into eachother. I laid out the colour a little more methodically when it came to the sentiment, allowing each letter to go from light to dark, top to bottom.
Once I had finished all of the sections of the moon & sentiment I went over all of the painted area with some Wink of Stella, which is just a clear glitter overlay in a brush pen.
I trimmed down the panel using a Waffle Flower Postage die and added it to a panel of this gorgeous Navy cardstock using foam tape.
A few Silver & Gold sequins from Catherine Pooler finished the design nicely. Then the whole panel is glued onto an A2 card base made with 110lb Neenah.
That’s it from me this week folks, but I will be back the same time next week with more TLPT inspiration.
Hey Crafty People!
Please be aware:
As part of my Design Team and Guest Design work I do often receive free products to use, but I only ever recommend products that I genuinely love.
Also, I know how incredibly lucky I am to have these opportunities, but you don’t always NEED the newest products or the ‘full set’.
So please don’t feel that you need everything.
I like to show a variety of brands and products; this way there will be something for everybody to enjoy.
