Hey Crafty People!

By now, it’s probably pretty clear that I LOVE playing with foiling?! So I’m at it again; foiling with a die onto patterned paper! This time I’ve got two cards to share, using supplies that I’ve used before, but in a new way…let’s stretch those supplies!!!

Hello, Geometric Florals!

1. Foil the Criss Cross background die onto a sheet of Alexandra Renke’s floral cardstock with Silver Glimmer foil. (I love the way those geometric foiled lines look against the soft florals going on behind them!!!) If you get a little over-foiling you can take the majority of that away with an eraser, but I do kind of like the grunginess of a little over-foiling here.)
2. Cut the Hello & Friend sentiment dies from cardstock which has double sided adhesive on top. (So you would put your die against the release paper of the adhesive, that way you have the adhesive on the top.)
3. Apply WOW Silver Sparkles fine glitter onto the die cut letters, burnishing it well with some release paper to really get that glitter stuck down. (This is such an important step because it avoids your recipient ending up covered in glitter when they open your card.)
4. Cut the background dies from Vellum, and adhered the outline of the words on top; save the inside parts of the letters for another design.
5. OPTIONAL: For a more dimensional look, adhere another layer of the outlines behind the vellum shadow – this will lift your words and make them stand out a lot more.
6. Adhere your sentiment and add some gems to finish the design!

Play With Colour

1. Foil the Heart Strings cover die onto some Renke patterned paper (linked below) in red foil. Again, you might get some over-foiling but you can get it off with an eraser, or just leave it as it is.)
2. Cut the detail layer of the Swirly Thank You dies from red cardstock with double sided adhesive on the top, as before.
3. Add WOW Crystal Sparkles fine glitter, and burnish well. (The adhesive and glitter will tone down the colour of the cardstock a bit, so go for a bolder shade if you want your colour to transmit through well.
4. Add these words onto a Vellum shadow, then adhere a second shadow layer cut from darker cardstock, slightly offset from the first; this helps the whole sentiment stand out better against the busy background.
5. Use foam adhesive to add your sentiment to the card panel, and then embellish with various sizes of red gems.
