I offset the wreath in the upper right, positioning it to allow the sentiment to fit snugly inside. (I always style my digital panels using Silhouette Studio, it’s free and SUPER easy to use! I have a video showing my process here.)
Today’s Two Minute Tip is a quick & easy way to colour floral images to add depth and interest. You will see the difference in your colouring straight away if you do this!
I coloured the leaves and flowers really simply, just using a two marker blend for each. I opted for a darker green for the foliage and a really deep, vibrant pink for the flowers. I love the way the two look against each other.
I always use the same technique with any floral image; I add some of my lighter colour on the petal/leaf, then I add the darker colour to the base of the petal or leaf. I blend that darker colour out with the lighter colour. Bam! You get a beautifully shaded image with loads of visual interest.
I added some cool grey around the image as a shadow.
