Today im sharing design that I made with both the Large & Small Die of the Month kits from Spellbinders.

Large Die of the Month

Thjs month we have an interactive card design featured; this folding stand card with the gorgeous large tree full of flowers & leaves. Plus you get the ‘Happy Birthday’ sentiment which is cleverly designed to slot onto one of the steps of your finished card.

Of course you can use any of the elements without needing to always create the card part.

I creates two totally different style cards with the same die set by switching up the colours that I used.

Card 1

1. Manifest Spring with a fresh & light colour palette and Golden accents.
2. Die cut the tree & sentiments from Gold mirror card. Choose some coloured cardstock to cut your flowers & leaves from. Assemble your tree as shown in the packaging; it’s definitely easiest to add all of the leaves first and then work on the flowers. (I decided to use little gems for the flower centres rather than the die cut pieces intended for them.)
3. Die cut the back piece and each of the side pieces for the card, crease the two side pieces on the debossed line and attach to the back of the main piece.
4. You need to cut the other piece 3 times and then trim one along the 1st score line, the second on the second scoreline and leave the third whole. Fold & crease on the edges and adhere onto the side pieces to create the 3 ‘steps’.
5. Adhere the Tree on the tallest ‘step’ then the two sentiment pieces on.
6. Die cut and adhere more flowers to embellish the sentiment.

Card 2

1. Bring the drama with Merlot cardstock for the tree with Gold leaves, white flowers and Gold centres.
2. Die cut the sentiment from both Gold & Burgundy and layer them up, alternated to really help that sentiment POP!

Small Die of the Month (with the Large one too!)

1. Die cut the tree, and its decorative elements from black cardstock, assemble them and use black gems for the centres of all of them. Set aside.
2. Cut one of the background pieces from the Small Die Of The Month from white cardstock and the several pieces for the Butterfly base.
3. Ink blend a background panel with an ombre of red, orange & yellow. Once dry, adhere the white base and black tree to the ink blended panel.
4. Use the same inks to colour the Butterfly wings and add some sparkle with a clear Glitter Overlay pen (such as Wink of Stella).
5. Add a black body to your Butterfly and adhere the body straight to the card with some foam tape under the wings to pop them up.
6. Foil a sentiment with Black Glimmer foil and trim into a strip; add to the tree with foam adhesive.
