Hey Crafty People
Today we are celebrating the opening of Spellbinders’ UK website with an awesome blog hop!
You’ll see loads of inspiration using the latest releases from Spellbinders, and of course have the chance to win a £25 voucher that you can use to get yourself some goodies!
The hop list is at the bottom of my post ?
Reverse Foiled Archway
- Cut the pieces of July’s small die of the Month from white cardstock & gold mirror card. Use your go to colouring medium to add colour to all of the white pieces – I used Copics. Assemble the pieces as per the guide.
- Using the Solid Arch, foil one of your foiling leftover pieces – such an awesome way to use that foil which would go to waste otherwise!!! (I had previously used a dotty plate and foiled that a couple of times with Gold Sunburst foil, so I had this left over just sitting around! That’s what I love so much about the Solid Plates; you can use up foil which might otherwise go to waste, to get super awesome & unique backgrounds!
- Assemble your card, using a mixture of liquid & foam adhesives; I feel like this layout almost looks like somebody looking through a window or arch whilst happily enjoying some sunshine.
- To get a border which matches your colouring, simply colour the outer edge of an a2 panel using one of the same markers. Trim the card panel down by 1/4inch each way and glue this to the a2 panel to leave 1/8th inch of blue on each side.
- Finish by adding a foiled sentiment and some gems for added interest!

Letters To Santa ?
- Repeat stamp two of the Christmas sentiments in Obsidian black ink onto an a2 panel of Neenah 80lb. Using a MISTI or similar tool is so helpful with this type of stamping; you just line the stamps up, stamp, slide your panel and stamp again! Trim down to mat it on an a2 panel of red cardstock and set aside.
- Repeat stamp the little envelope image onto more Neenah 80lb; you don’t need to cover the entire sheet, just an area big enough to die cut an oval from. Add some simple shading using the colouring medium of your choice, (again I chose Copics,) Just adding some light shade with cool grey markers on the envelopes itself and pale browns for a shadow around each envelope. I also added a spot of red for the postage label. (Also stamp & colour another envelope and fussy cut this one to add on later!)
- Cut the envelope pattern using the second largest oval die and also cut the decorative holes with the optional detail die. Cut the same size oval from gold mirror cardstock and glue this behind the white die cut. For an extra pop of red, you can hand cut an oval that is slightly larger to mat this double oval on. (I did this by tracing around the die itself, then carefully cutting this out with scissors.) Pop this whole triple layer oval onto the card panel, using foam adhesive for added dimension.
- Die cut the letters for your sentiment, using both the uppercase & lowercase alpha dies. To really help the sentiment to stand out, cut it twice from both red & gold mirror; then layer them up, slightly offset for a dropshadow effect. (For a playful extra to this design, add the letters on purposefully wonky!) Use foam tape to attach the single envelope underneath the sentiment.)
- To embellish: add some small, gel Sparkle Pen details to the letters and some shiny red hearts, or of course, your own favourite embellishments!

Tone on Tone Christmas
- Stamp the brand new Pinecones & Fur background stamp onto some Moss Green cardstock, in a slightly darker ink for a subtle tone-on-tone look. Trim this panel down and add onto an a2 panel of Navy cardstock; offset the panels for an interesting look. Cut two thin strips of Gold Mirror cardstock and glue one either side of the green panel.
- Cut & stack the letters in the same way we did before, but this time use the Navy Blue from the background. Mix it up with both upper & lowercase, adding the fun swirly letters in for even more detail. Line the letters up using a grid mat or ruler, and then transfer them onto the card using either low tack tape or Press ‘n Seal.
- Cut the various elements from the Bold Blooms die set from solid colour cardstock and position them around the start of the sentiment using a mix of liquid glue & foam adhesive. (The new Christmas version of this set would be ideal but I haven’t had chance to add that one to my collection just yet! ??)
- Embellish with some gold baubles, or your own choice of sequin/gem/pearl etc.

lovely cards
Fantastic cards!
Fabulous colours and thanks for sharing your card Natasha
Fabulous card. Thanks for sharing Natasha.
Love the tone on tone card, the blue teamed with those colours make it really pop out, definitely a design that’ll get noticed amongst other cards.
Hi, Natasha – Love your work! Congrats to Spellbinders on this achievement. Glad for UK/EU residents to have this fabulous company within easier reach for your crafting needs. I like the “Dear Santa” card better of the two Xmas cards. The first card (Greetings / Hello with foiled arch) is GORGEOUS but if it’s a Xmas card, I guess I am missing something LOL! I love it and the colors you used on it.

I especially like the tone-on-tone background. 🙂

So FUN! Great cards! I love Christmas (it’s my birthday) and I live at the Beach! Great Post!
Love how you creatively used the sentiment stamp set to made a background. It’s s great card, as is the very unusual colour combination used in the second card. I don’t think I’d have ever thought to use this combination for a Christmas. And. So innovative. Thank you for your inspiration ??
Great cards! My favourite is the first one with the bather. I also use the negative from foiling… I never throw any foil pieces actually!!!
Stunning cards. My favourite is the Letter to Santa. Great inspiration.
Fabulous cards, so different yet so fun!
Lovely projects! The “Merry Xmas” card is my favorite because of the beautiful, vibrant colors you’ve used.
Lovely card. I would need a hat like that when should go to the beach.
Fantastic cards! I love the bright green on the Xmas card!
