Im super excited to be working with Spellbinders to promote some of their Clubs of the Month for the rest of 2023. Today I’m sharing cards that I made with both the Stitching & Small Dies of the month.

It’s Christmas in July

This month’s dies are Christmas in July themed, and they are both so gorgeous, I made 2 cards with each but honestly, I could have made more!!! These will definitely be staples in my Holiday Crafting collection!

Small Die of the Month

This month’s set is a beautiful Poinsettia adorned tree and I created two cards that follow the same design but changed them up by swapping out the colours that I chose for each.

The main tree piece cuts a base, and then you get a second piece that will cut the floral/leaves base pieces, but for easy assembly, you can deboss the base piece using your embossing mat – then you’ll have a guide as to where each piece goes when you are assembling your tree!

Red, Green & Gold

1. Die cut your pieces from your chosen cardstock and add extra detail with some simple shading using Copic markers.
2. Assemble florals by offsetting and layering, using liquid glue to adhere each layer. Add extra pops of gold in the centres of each.
3. Adhere the flowers & berries onto your base, foliage layers.
4. To give your main tree piece more depth, gently blend dark green ink around the outside.
5. Position each foliage piece and adhere with foam adhesive for extra dimension.
6. Emboss a panel of the same red cardstock using the Plaid Company embossing folder, using a baby wipe to dampen the cardstock before to ensure you get the best detail possible. Allow it to dry thoroughly.
7. Darken the cardstock, using two different shades of red which are each darker than the cardstock itself. Blend from the outside in, leaving the very middle without ink, then not bringing the darkest all the way to give you a 3-tone ombre blend.
8. Splatter gold ink across the panel and set aside to dry.
9. Die cut the flag banner piece from both gold & white cardstocks and cut the ‘JOY’ word from the gold. Layer the white underneath, but scoot it down slightly to give a white drop banner.
10. Adhere your tree and the sentiment with foam adhesive, adding a golden star to the top with a thicker foam to raise it slightly above the tree.
11. Embellish with Opal gems

Blue & Silver

This one is largely the same, but I switched the colour scheme for a cooler toned alternative.

1. Cut the base from Navy cardstock, and the floral bases from Silver cardstock.
2. Create your layered florals with blues Poinsettias and white roses, using blue glitter cardstock for the accent pieces.
3. Assemble with liquid & foam adhesive.
4. Adhere onto a panel of white cardstock, embossed with the Plaid Company embossing folder.
5. Create your sentiment with blue & silver, adhering this with more foam adhesive.
6. Embellish with Sapphire Gems.

Stitching Die of the Month

1. Die cut the large stitching snowflake, and the smaller stitching piece twice from Navy cardstock and adhere them together for better stability.
2. Stitch simple running stitch, then reverse stitch to fill the gaps to give a continuous run. Repeat this for each arm of the snowflake in turn, and around the zig-zag joining up pieces. Create simple stars in the end of the 2 larger arms. For the centre piece, create a star outline and cross from each point & dip to the centre
3. Die cut a panel of pale blue cardstock using the large debossing die.
4. Ink blend darker blues to create a spotlight effect again. Once dry, flick gold watercolour over the whole panel.
5. Adhere the snowflake with small foam tape pieces, and pop that centre piece up too.
6. Use this month’s add-on kit to make a sentiment banner, snipping off the ends to offset them to give the look of a double layered die.

No Stitch Snowflake

This gorgeous snowflake looks good whether it’s stitched or not! So here’s a non stitched idea to help stretch those supplies!

1. Die cut the snowflake from Gold cardstock and adhere it onto 2-3 layers of white to give added dimension.
2. Fill in the little cut-out pieces with the white bits, holding from behind with double sided adhesive.
3. Cut that a2 panel from white cardstock and add gold splatters across.
4. Cut the ‘JOY’ sentiment piece from the add-on set from white and adhere onto the Gold snowflake so that gold shows through the word.
5. Adhere the snowflake onto the background panel.
6. Embellish with Aura Gems.
