The family that crafts together…

One of my favourite things to do is sit at our kitchen table, ‘crafting’ together. This could mean many different things in our house, because my youngest daughter took over the phrase ‘crafting’ to mean any type of art or creating as long as it’s done together. And that is everything to me.

Today, my eldest wanted to paint rainbows and my youngest wanted to practice her writing and drawing, so I took the time to make a quick card that I think perfectly summed up how I felt in that moment.

I ink blended the background with some sunshine Distress Oxide colours and a stencil that I ordered from Ali Express. I embossed the edges with WOW! rich metallic gold by just swiping my versamark pad across each edge, I just love that technique!

If you’ve never shopped on Ali before I highly recommend you take a look; I’ve had so many stamps, metal dies & stencils from there, and they’re dirt cheap. They do take anywhere from 2 to 5 weeks to arrive, but I quite like that because in that time I’ve likely forgotten what I had ordered so it’s like a present to myself every time something arrives!

Now, I do adore crafting alongside them, but they don’t half take up some space! They somehow manage to spread further across the table with every passing minute, and I find the space I have to work in getting smaller and smaller. There’s even a juice cup ON my Water Media Mat at this point!

I can’t be mad though on a day when I am well enough to come downstairs and I can sit here & share my passion with my children.

Tabitha (4) wanted to share her creations with you, I have been reliably informed that this is Chip & Dale, the chipmunks from Disney. As soon as this photo was taken we had to glue them both together so they could never lose each other.

Yes, I was definitely feeling full of sunshine this afternoon, sitting looking at my wonderful babies and knowing that we will always have this to share together.
