Hey Crafty People!

If you’re looking for a quick and easy background, then you can’t go far wrong starting on coloured cardstock; so much of the work has already been done for you and you can get a super quick tone-on-tone stencilled background in no time at all!

1. Start with an a2 panel of your chosen colour of cardstock and choose a couple of inks from the same colour family; preferably choose a lighter and a darker shade.
2. Line up the first portion of your stencil and ink blend the lighter shade evenly across the entire panel.
3. Shift the stencil to the second position, lining it up against the portion you’ve already done, and evenly blend the darker ink across. Set the panel aside to dry.
4. Foil your chosen sentiment onto some smooth white cardstock using Matte Gold foil. (This is from the February Glimmer of the Month.)
5. For some added interest, cut the sentiment out using an oval die with a detailed edging. Pop this up on foam adhesive, with a strip of vellum behind to soften part of the background pattern.
6. Add some self adhesive pearl embellishments into the stencilled pattern.
