Today I’m joining the team at Heffy Doodle in a collab with Catherine Pooler Designs! The theme of the hop is Ocean and I definitely enjoyed this trip under the sea.

1. Starting with the background, smoosh Oh, Boy!, Something Borrowed & Suede Shoes onto a glass mat to use the ink like watercolour. Using a flat, wide brush and plenty of water, swipe the 3 blues across a piece of Distress watercolour cardstock. Set aside to dry.
2. Stamp & emboss images from Oceans of Love in Polished Gold on more of the Distress Watercolour Cardstock.
3. Using a clear Tombow Marker and more of the Catherine Pooler inks, quickly & easily colour the images. (I recently shared a video about this technique which you can see here.)
4. OPTIONAL: To add extra sparkle, go over the coloured images with a Gold Sparkle brush marker.
5. Fussy cut the images and set aside.
6. Choose 3 circle dies and cut them from am a2 panel of Neenah 80lb. For the largest circle, measure against your Halo light to get the right size.
7. OPTIONAL: Cut 1 size larger from the panel and back with a piece of blue glitter cardstock that has an opening just the right size for the Halo to give that little bit extra to the card.
8. Plan the placement of your Halo on the back of your holey panel, lightly tracing around it and place a light mark on the fron where the button will be.
9. Now you know where that Halo/Battery pack will sit, add Heffy double thick foam tape around the parts of the back of your panel avoiding anywhere your Halo will be. Don’t forget to add some regular adhesive tape to the back of the Halo’s battery pack.
10. Peel back the release of the foam tape and adhere the watercolour panel on the back.

Setting the Scene

1. Die cut the Light word die twice from Blueberry cardstock and stack these up, then add a glitter die cut word on top. (Slightly offset to get a drop shadow effect.
2. Double up small strips of foam and add them behind the ‘ight’ portion of the words and adhere it across the largest circle. For the ‘L’ you only need to add 1 layer. To make it extra strong, add a few dots of glue to the foam adhesive.
3. Emboss a sentiment from Guiding Light in Polished Gold on some more of that watercoloured cardstock. Fussy cut around it and add to the card with half thickness foam adhesive.
4. Add the rest of your images onto the card with a mix of liquid glue & half thickness foam squares.
5. Embellish with CoveSea Sparkle mix.
