Watercolour Pigment Control | AECP Family CASE Hop

Hey Crafty People

Today I’m so excited to be in a hop all about the wide variety of people who are either working on their AECP, or have been certified already.
I set up the hop through our AECP Family FB group as a way for us to get to know and support eachother. ?

We are doing a CASE hop, and for those of you who haven’t heard of the term before/don’t know what it means; it is an acronym for Copy And Share Everything.
Each person in the hop was assigned another, and tasked to look through their work for a card that inspired them.

From there, you can go many ways; a true CASE would be a total recreation of that card, but we all know that inspiration doesn’t always work like that! So we are creating whatever we were inspired to create: maybe you want to recreate the card but with your own spin, maybe it’s the technique, colours, layout or sentiment that sparks something in you. It can really be anything, as long as you credit the individual who inspired you. ?

My assigned CASE is my wonderful friend Jo Herbert. I know Jo through WOW Embossing Powder, as she is the DT Coordinator, but more than that she is a dear friend whose kindness and good heart radiates like sunshine. ?

I was inspired by this card, made by Jo. I watched her video and I loved the process she used when painting these beautiful flowers. I was also inspired by the vibrant flowers on a darker background, so I decided to use the same painting techniques along with a dark background to create my card design.

I don’t have the same stamp sets as Jo used, so I chose my favourite floral stamp from Altenew, Statement Flowers and I painted it with Altenew’s Watercolour Markers.

I chose a different colour scheme than Jo used in her design, but the colours that I chose were inspired more by the colours that I see when I think of her.
As I said sunshine radiates from her very soul, plus she lives in Australia which is a *little* sunnier than here in Middle England!!! ??

The watercolour techniques that inspired me are embossing your image to make the whole painting process easier, and also using two brushes, one for pigment, one for water. You can see how I felt about this technique in my video!

I really love the card I created, and the whole process of CASEing!
I can’t wait to see what everybody else on the hop has created!!!

The next stop along the hop is Berit who has a beautiful creation to share, I’m sure!

Because Berit is sharing on Instagram, which doesn’t allow forward links, please make sure you head to Fabrice afterwards to continue along the hop!

Thank you so much for stopping by today, if you’re new here then I hope that you will consider subscribing.
