Coffee Afternoons Card Set
I used the newest Catherine Pooler Trio & some gorgeous A Pocketfull Of Sunshine goodies and I ended up making four cards, so I’ll give a quick rundown of each of them!
But first, a little prep!
- Heat emboss a sheet of A5 WOW cardstock in each of the three Coffee with Catherine powders.
- Die cut those with the New Wave cover plate die from A Pocket Full Of Happiness and set aside all of those pieces in seperate little piles to use for building backgrounds with!
Negative Die Cutting
- Apply double sided adhesive to a panel of cardstock, and begin adhering the wave die cuts, it doesn’t matter what order you start with but just keep that same order right the way through.
- Die cut the Birthday Banner outline piece and the words from some Copper Pearl cardstock and stack it up with 2-3 others behind it for dimension.
- Use the negative piece leftover from cutting the banner outline and glue this onto the Wave background, popping the outline piece into place. Then glue the letters in place, using the negatives to line everything up properly.
- Embellish with white Clay Hearts and Seashell Confetti.
Positive Banner
- This time, group your colours together to add 5 of each one, working from the lightest at the top and going down for a sort of ombre look. Trim the backing cardstock off where the waves end and pop the whole thing up with foam tape onto an a2 panel of Neenah 80lb.
- Stack 3x Neenah Birthday Banner outlines on top of each other and then glue this directly onto the background panel.
- Deboss the word dies onto the corresponding banner inserts, this will make it SO MUCH easier to adhere the letter in the right place! Again, I used that same Pearl cardstock and then add the inserts back into the banner.
- Embellish with sequins.
Leftovers, Not Rubbish!
- Adhere pieces of the embossed wave die onto WOW cardstock, leaving a gap between each one. Then trim it down to 4×5.25in and add it onto an a2 panel of Neenah 80lb. (WOW’s cardstock is really bright white and Neenah is more of a cream shade, so I like the contrast of the two next to each other sometimes.)
- For a sentiment, use the negative banner pieces, but back then with more white cardstock to make sure the sentiment is legible. Pop these up on foam adhesive.
- Embellish with sequins.
Braided Beauty
It took a little time to get these braids right, but if you use three, and keep fiddling around they will find a place that sits properly and allows them to lay flat.
Three braids sit beautifully on an a2 panel of Neenah 80lb.
The sentiment is from a Catherine Pooler set and I stamped it in their ink too.
