Super Mum! Working With Digital Stamps In Silhouette Studio.

Another fortnight has flown by, and that means it’s time for another challenge over at Polkadoodles Craft blog! This week I’m feeling super inspired and I want to talk to you about Silhouette Studio!

The theme this week was to include an image with a matching themed sentiment & whilst looking for inspiration in my stash, I rediscovered this lovely lady and I remembered that I had seen the perfect sentiment in the PD shop!

I just love the ultimate bedraggled look this poor Mama has going on, but that she is just getting on with it all anyway. Not to mention, what’s not to love about a female superhero?!!

I coloured her really quote simply in a limited pallette before fussy cutting her out and setting her to one side to work on my sentiment.

The sentiment actually comes as 2 lines of roughly equal length, but I knew I wanted to have my sentiment sitting in a hexagon and that just wouldn’t work as it was, so I knew I needed to cut it up a little. I loaded it up into my Sihouette programme and used the knife tool to cut each word away from the others, this then made it easy to put each one where I needed it to sit and also meant I could position them all a bit randomly to extend the theme of my little focal Super Mum and her matching sentiment!

Then all I had to do was trace it using the software and then have my Cameo 4 write it out and cut a hexagonal frame all round.

I added some gentle ink blending using Mustard Seed Distress Ink onto a card panel and added this & my other elements on using foam adhesive.

As I’ve said in the past I have always used Microsoft Word or Publisher to work with my digital stamps, and I was happy enough managing with that because I didn’t find I needed to use any other options not available to me in those programs, which was true. BUT (!) now I’ve had the chance to use different software I realise I can actually do so many more techniques and also I have complete control over the placement of each image, which is awesome!
