Hello Lovelies,
Today I have a super quick watercolour floral card to share with you. This is actually a panel which I painted a while back and is another of the rescued pieces from my ‘not finished’ folder.
I used my Daler Rowney travel palette and a Zen round 4 brush to create the super simple flowers. I started each petal by placing my clean, wet brush against the paper then just sort of wiggling my brush slightly as I drew it backwards, this creates that rough triangular shape. Then I simply dropped some colour onto the smallest part of the petal and let those pigments do all the work for me.
Skip around your paper rather than painting 2 petals next to eachother so that you’re giving them time to dry and once you are happy with the number of petals to each bloom add a centre and a thin stem.
It really is the simplest method of painting a flower and it’s perfect for beginners because it isn’t supposed to be perfect and I think you learn so much from just watching how your paints move across the paper.
I added a simple sentiment in blue to match the background and I was done.
