Altenew 8th Anniversary Blog Hop Day 5 + Giveaway (over $2,000 in Total Prizes)
Clean & Simple With A Modern Twist
I foiled the gorgeous Golden Days floral in Gold foil using my Glimmer machine and then trimmed the panel down to a2 size.
There is a gorgeous colouring stencil that goes with this, bit I decided to leave it white and add some colour in a more unexpected way. Using the thinnest die from the Slimline Nesting Rectangles die set, I cut three strips from my panel and added three strips of glitter cardstock.
I cut the glitter strips using the same die, from some Gradient Glitter cardstock, choosing three different shades so that my strips would appear to be lighter as you got to the outer petals, as though it was shade & highlight.
I added some extra strips of scrap cardstock behind the foiled strips and put them back, slightly offset.
The bold, black style of Mega Label Love stamped in Obsidian was the perfect sentiment style for this modern design. Black acrylic dots finished the design nicely.

Foiling The Negative
I never want to let any of that foiled deliciousness go to waste, so I used my Solid Foil Plate to foil the negative of my Golden Days floral. It is super shiny and beautiful, the photos really don’t do it justice!!! Once foiled, I fussy cut the whole thing, leaving a thin golden border that ensures the white lines of the image don’t get lost.
The background might just be a little sneak peek of a new product…so I won’t say too much about that! (Hahaha)
For my sentiment, I used the Essential Sentiment Strips dies, cutting it twice from 110lb Neenah cardstock. The second time I ran it through, I took my metal plate out of my die cutting sandwich so that the die didn’t quite cut all of the way through. This way, the letters stayed in place, and I could easily colour them with an Artist Marker to match my background, before layering the full die cut over the top for added dimension.
The golden foil explanse really doesn’t need any embellishing, so I didn’t add anything that could take attention away from it. The little ends of the Stamens were just calling out for some Glossy Accents so I added a few dots.
