Hey Crafty People!

Today I’m sharing a pair of cards that I made with some gorgeous Pinkfresh Studio goodies! Packed full of Rainbow Foil and Florals, plus I got 2-for-1 from my background, which always makes me happy!

Rainbow Foil and Florals

Background Foiling

I used one of the foiled backgrounds that I made during one of my Glimmer Marathons – I like to sit down and spend a couple of hours foiling different plates to use at a future date.

This background started as the Diagonal Stripes Hot Foil Plate, foiled in Rainbow Glimmer Foil onto a panel of WOW’s Superior Smooth cardstock.

Then I die cut this with the Hexagon Panel Cover Die and set aside both the positive & negative pieces.

Card 1

I used the outline of the Hexagon to help me position each of the inside pieces into the right place on an a2 panel of grey cardstock, then I pulled up the outline piece. This leaves me with a really fun striped Rainbow pattern which continues across all of the hex pieces over the whole background panel.

I heat embossed the Lush Peonies image onto vellum in white embossing powder and added detail to the back using grey copic markers. This really helps the image to pop and stand out against the busy background. When adding marker to the back of a vellum image you will need to go a little darker than you want the colour to finish up as, because the vellum will soften that colour quite a bit. So I started with C7 in the very base of the petals and blended this out with C5 & C3.

Once die cut, I attached it to the background by concealing tiny dots of glue behind the embossed lines and darkest shadows.

For a sentiment, I grabbed one from my stash of pre foiled ones. (This was the Perfect Sentiments, but the negative foiled version which I got by using the solid foil plate and then die cutting.)

A few gems throughout the panel finish it off beautifully.

Card 2

For this card, I used the outline piece and glued it onto an a2 panel of warm pearlised cardstock from my stash.

The I embossed the Rose Garden stamp onto another piece of Vellum, but I used Gold embossing powder this time. Once die cut, I turned it over to add definition to the image but this time I opted for some soft brown Copics over the Grey’s I used for the last card. Then I glued this down using liquid glue, applying it behind the embossing and shading.

I used another of my pre foiled sentiments, but this one is the Perfect Sentiments positive image, die cut. The same gems round out the design nicely
