Colouring on the embossed panel…
I out an a2 panel of Neenah 80lb through my die cutting machine in the 3d embossing folder – this gives such a gorgeous, detailed image. I know I’ve said it before, but these embossing folders are seriously next level!!!
Using several colour families of Artist Markers, I added colour to each of the petals, leaves, stems and flower centres. The details in the embossed image make it easy to know where your shadows and highlights need to be.
Using the brush tip makes this so much easier for me, but the beauty of Altenew’s markers is that they have a bullet tip on the other end to help with those smaller details.
I kept this design super simple, adding a stamped sentiment from the kit.

Enjoy our Craft Your Life Project Kit, an exciting monthly package that is sure to get the creative juices flowing!
Featuring:
- 6×8 stamp set – with three beautiful floral clusters. The flowers and leaves were drawn with great care, giving special attention to the folds and curves of the petals. The set includes eight messages great for everyday occasions.
- Coordinating die set – a matching die for each of the floral clusters
- A stencil set – features FIVE colouring stencils which will allow you to colour the floral clusters in two colouring layers
- Embossing folder to fit the theme – featuring an elaborate version of one of the floral clusters from the stamp set
Pair them together for the best results!!!

Ombre ink swiping
Mini ink cubes make it so easy to add stripes of colour, and when you overlap them you get a really quick, and easy ombre effect!
Stamping an image in bold, black Obsidian ink over the top of this coloured background is such an awesome technique to have in your arsenal!!! (Just give the ink swipes a little time to fully dry to ensure you get a perfectly crisp image.)
I also stamped a sentiment from the kit in Obsidian.
Once stamped, I die cut the panel with the middle die from the Mix & Match Frames set, and mounted it onto a Buff panel cut with the largest Frame die.
For extra dimension, I used the Altenew foam tape to adhere the two.
Tone-on-tone subtlety…
Before embossing this panel of Neenah 80lb, I swiped a Buttercream ink pad across the inside of the embossing folder.
You get this fabulous two tone cream & white design; I love it!
I’ve got this ‘touch of gold’ pearlescent cardstock in my stash, so I cut the shadow for this large ‘you’ from that and I added a vellum layer over the top. I really love how this looks, and it’s the complete opposite of how I would normally layer a sentiment.
Then I added the sub sentiment layered the opposite way.
I really love how this one turned out! It’s difficult to catch in photos, but it looks absolutely stunning in real life.
