Altenew Mighty Kind Stand Alone Dies Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($300 in total prizes)

Hey Crafty People

Today we are celebrating with an Altenew Mighty Kind Stand Alone Dies Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway! I will have the person you should head over to next at the bottom of this post. Or you can head over to Altenew’s post to start from the beginning.

The hop will be packed full of awesome inspiration using the products in this release! If you’re already in love with what you’ve seen you can head over to the new collection page here!

Dimensional Die Cuts

One of my favourite ways to jazz up some die cuts is by adding some really simple shadows with Artist Marker/Copics. You really don’t have to add a lot to completely transform them from flat to fabulous!

I cut the envelope from some grey cardstock and added shadow in all of the folds. To make it a little quicker, I cut all of the envelope fillers from Neenah 80lb and added the lighter colour all over and a darker shade at the base of the petals/leaves/stems/hearts.

For a SUPER simple background, I added some strips of the thin dots washi tape, letting some of the strips cross over each other for added interest.

My sentiment is from the new Mighty Alphabet set, and I chose ILY because that’s a phrase I’ve always said to my closest; it just stands for I Love You. ?

Die Cut Inlay

This is a pretty time consuming technique, but it does make my heart happy to see the finished backgrounds! ?

I ink blended s full panel with each of the four inks from Sea Shore set and then cut those, along with a white panel using the Simple Shapes cover die.
Then the quickest way to put them back together, was to stick the white ‘frame’ portion onto some double sided adhesive sheet, so that the spaces all had adhesive exposed and I could easily pop random pieces back in until the panel was covered. (I did this a few times to give me two backgrounds that I’ve used today and more that I will use for future projects!

I cut the ‘way to go’ words from Neenah and some grey metallic cardstock from my stash and offset them to give me a drop shadow and vellum for the die cut shadow layer.

Using Leftovers!

I used another of the die cut inlay backgrounds, with a stacked up die cut leaf that I had leftover from a previous crafting session.
To make the die cut stand out more I added it to some vellum, with torn edges for extra texture. (Also because I’m just really LOVING the torn vellum right now!)

The little congrats is from the Way To Go die set that I used on the last card.

Subtle Texture & Sparkle

I LOVE the new Pop Up Dahlia die; it’s just so clever!!!
I cut it into the centre of an a2 panel of Neenah 80lb and gently teased up all of the petals and leaves so that you would see more of the gold glitter cardstock that I glued to the back of it. I LOVE the subtle pop of glitter!!!

The sentiment is also from the new release, and I cut it from more Neenah, layered onto a vellum shadow; I’m loving that tone on tone subtlety!

I trimmed down the Dahlia panel to 4in x 5.25in so that I could layer it onto an a2 panel of teal cardstock from my stash.
To add notes of the teal & gold I embellished the design with some circles of each that I cut with a hole punch.

Don’t forget to leave a comment to be entered into the Giveaway; I’d love to know which of the cards I made for this release is your favourite?

Next up on the hop is the INCREDIBLE Jenny Colacicco so be sure to head over and see what she has to share with us!!

You should have arrived here from the SUPER talented Michelle Short however, if not don’t worry! I have the full line up linked below, at the very bottom of the post.
